Frank Barry has been chasing trains since he was four years old. In the late 1950s and early ‘60s, he hitchhiked all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, and Europe with his Rolleicord, taking pictures of steam locomotives and the people who ran them.

His work has appeared in over 90 publications, including Trains Magazine, Classic Trains, and The Washington Post Magazine, and has been featured in 23 books, including Trains magazine’s 100 Greatest Railroad Photos. His photographs have also been exhibited at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art.

Frank has published two books of his own, The Last Winter and Chasing Steam in Mexico.
